Privacy Policy

A clear, honest breakdown of how CricketCals handles (or rather, doesn't handle) your data.

The short version

CricketCals doesn't collect, store, process, or share any personal data. Period. All calculations run entirely in your browser. We don't use cookies, analytics trackers, or any third-party monitoring tools. You type numbers in, you get numbers out — nothing leaves your device.

What's in this policy

Information We Collect

CricketCals is a static website that provides free cricket calculation tools. We do not collect, gather, store, or have access to any of the following:

  • Personal identification data — no names, email addresses, phone numbers, or usernames.
  • Calculation inputs — the runs, overs, wickets, or any other numbers you enter are never transmitted to any server.
  • Device information — no IP addresses, browser types, screen resolutions, or device identifiers.
  • Location data — no GPS coordinates, city-level location, or IP-based geolocation.
  • Usage analytics — no page views, click paths, session durations, or conversion tracking.

In practical terms, there is no database, no user accounts system, no backend server processing your data, and no mechanism by which any data could be collected even if we wanted to. The website consists entirely of client-side HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

How Calculations Work

Every calculation on CricketCals — batting strike rate, bowler economy, run rate, partnership totals, the DLS target estimator, and the overs to balls converter — runs entirely within your web browser using standard JavaScript.

This means:

  • Your input numbers exist only in your browser's memory for the milliseconds it takes to compute the result.
  • No data is sent to any external server, API, or cloud service during or after calculation.
  • If you close the tab or refresh the page, all inputs and results are gone. Nothing is persisted.
  • The calculations work even if your device is completely offline after the initial page load.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

CricketCals does not use cookies. Not first-party, not third-party, not session cookies, not persistent cookies. None.

We also do not use any of the following tracking or identification technologies:

  • Browser fingerprinting or canvas fingerprinting
  • Local storage or session storage for tracking purposes
  • Pixel trackers or web beacons
  • Referrer header logging

Your browser's cookie settings and Do Not Track preferences, while always good to configure, are effectively irrelevant here because there is nothing to block.

Third-Party Services

To deliver this website, we rely on a small number of third-party content delivery networks (CDNs) for publicly available, open-source resources:

Service Purpose Data Shared
Tailwind CSS (CDN) Styling framework None
Google Fonts Typography (Outfit, DM Sans) None
Font Awesome (CDN) Icon library None

These CDNs may log standard web server access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) as part of their infrastructure operations. This is governed by their own privacy policies and is entirely outside our control. We do not receive any of this data from them.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, any advertising networks, or any other third-party service that collects user data.

Data Accuracy & DLS Disclaimer

While this isn't strictly a privacy matter, it's important to address the accuracy of the results our tools produce:

About the DLS Target Calculator

The Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method and its official resource percentage tables are proprietary to the International Cricket Council (ICC). Our DLS target tool uses a simplified, publicly available Standard Edition resource table with linear interpolation. It is designed for educational and recreational purposes only.

Results may differ from official ICC DLS calculations. This tool must not be used to determine match results in any official, competitive, or league setting. Always refer to the ICC's licensed DLS software for official calculations.

For the other five calculators (strike rate, economy, run rate, partnership, and overs to balls), the formulas used are standard, universally accepted cricket calculations. These produce mathematically correct results given accurate inputs. We are not responsible for errors arising from incorrect data entered by the user.

External Links

CricketCals does not contain links to external third-party websites. If we ever add external links in the future, please be aware that:

  • We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or policies of any external site.
  • Visiting any linked external site is at your own discretion and risk.
  • We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any website you visit.

Children's Privacy

CricketCals is suitable for users of all ages. Because we do not collect any personal information from anyone — including children — there are no specific concerns regarding children's data privacy on this website.

We do not knowingly target or direct content at children under 13 (or any other age threshold), nor do we collect any data that would require parental consent under regulations such as COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) or the UK Age Appropriate Design Code.

If you are a parent or guardian and have any concerns about your child's use of this website, please feel free to contact us. We'll be happy to address any questions, even though there is no data to remove or restrict.

Your Rights

Under regulations such as the GDPR (EU), the UK GDPR, the CCPA (California), and similar data protection laws, individuals have certain rights regarding their personal data. These typically include:

Right of Access

Request a copy of personal data held about you.

Right to Rectification

Request correction of inaccurate personal data.

Right to Erasure

Request deletion of your personal data.

Right to Portability

Request your data in a machine-readable format.

Right to Object

Object to processing of your personal data.

Right to Restrict

Request limitation of processing of your data.

How this applies to CricketCals: Since we do not collect, store, or process any personal data whatsoever, all of the above rights are effectively satisfied by default. There is no personal data to access, correct, delete, port, object to, or restrict. If you contact us exercising any of these rights, we will confirm in writing that we hold no personal data relating to you.

Security

Because CricketCals does not collect or store any data, the traditional attack surfaces associated with data breaches — databases, user authentication systems, file storage — simply do not exist on this website.

The website is served over HTTPS, which encrypts all communication between your browser and the web server. This is a standard security measure provided by our hosting infrastructure and prevents any third party from intercepting the content of the pages you load.

The JavaScript code that performs calculations is plain, readable, and contained entirely within the HTML file. There are no obfuscated scripts, no hidden network requests, and no background processes. You can verify this yourself by viewing the page source in your browser.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Given the nature of this website — no data collection, no user accounts, no evolving feature set — significant changes are unlikely. However, if we do make changes, here's how we'll handle it:

  • The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised to reflect the most recent change.
  • If changes are material — for example, if we ever introduce a feature that collects data — we will make that prominently clear on this page.
  • We will not retroactively apply a new policy to data collected under a previous version (though, again, no data is collected).

We recommend reviewing this page occasionally if you have privacy concerns, though in practice, the core commitment — no data collection — is fundamental to how CricketCals works and is unlikely to change.

We are not a large organisation, so you'll be speaking with someone who actually built and maintains this website. We aim to respond to all privacy-related enquiries within a reasonable timeframe.

No data. No tracking. No exceptions.

That's not a marketing line. It's a technical description of how this website works. The simplest privacy policy is the one where there's nothing to protect.
